This photo series tells the intimate and almost unknown Ecuadorian Fiesta de los Toros de Giron.  The Fiesta witnesses how rural tradition and ancient pagan rituals are still predominant in the daily life of Ecuadorian people. It is the moment where religious tradition and pagan rituals merge and mix, where life and death dance cheek to cheek and where a surreal feeling of suspense and wait returns the authentic atmosphere of the best magic realism of Garcia Marquez’s Latin American dramas.
