This is a story about the suburban area of northern Lima known as Cono Norte, and about social marginality of its people. The Cono Norte is made by a uncountable series of asentamientos humanos which the institutions fairly call pueblos jovenes but simply remind of other well known third world’s shanty towns. Here people came along from the poor Andes and Amazon Forest driven by the mirage of a better life. They settled down on the sand and built their houses the best they could, looking for a chance.
